Chapter 31
“Uncle Tom, why are you still the same as ever?” Linda asked, barely masking the disdain in her eyes.
She crouched beside him. “To be frank, that phone call you made to me four years ago was a real wake-
up call,”
Linda would have remained oblivious to so many things without that call. She added, “Relax, Uncle Tom. I promise you that your dreams will never come true.”
She glanced at Wendy, who caught on quickly. Wendy signaled to the security personnel to escort Tom
out.
From her seat at the head of the table, Linda scanned the room, noting how everyone was too frightened to speak up.
“You all had a good relationship with my parents when they were alive, and I believe in your integrity. I’m a reasonable person and prefer not to take any legal action.
“Today, I’m allowing you to come forward and admit to what you’ve done. Regardless of the discrepancies, I will not hold them against you as long as you can address them.
“However, if you can’t, and the company suffers because of it, you know there will be consequences,”
Linda spoke softly, but her words were unforgiving.
Even if a few found it inappropriate, they didn’t dare to speak out. They were unaware of the amount of groundwork John had done for Linda or the breadth of her network.
v one of her Moreover, she was now YK Media’s vice president. The Lynch family was undoubtedly contacts. Although the Lynch family wasn’t based in Osmo, their influence was substantial.
Besides, William was indebted to Linda. He would certainly step in if any problems arose.
Linda wasn’t someone they could afford to challenge. She was a force to be reckoned with even without these connections. As John and Adeline’s daughter, Linda was bound to be significant.
“Ms. Felix, we understand. Thank you for giving us the chance to make things right.”
“You’re welcome. I’m not doing this to single anyone out. My concern is for the company’s best interests, and I hope you all understand that.”
Who would dare to disagree?
“Yes, you’re right. We acted unwisely before.”
Linda smiled. “If there’s nothing else, everyone except Mr. Strallen, Mr. Chapman, and Mr. Joslin can
return to their offices.”
The group filed out one by one. The three remaining were John’s trusted confidants. They had a better grasp of the company’s situation.
“Martin, Kevin, Cillian.” Linda stood up and nodded to them. “Thank you for your dedication over these

past four years.”

Martin Strallen looked at Linda, tears streaming down his face. “It’s good to have you back. That’s all that
matters.”
Cillian Joslin discreetly wiped away his tears. “Linda, knowing you and Chloe are well means we can rest easy when we join John someday.”
Kevin Chapman looked at Linda and sighed. “It would have been great if Zack were still with the company.
I’ve heard some things about what happened with Zack, but I’m not entirely sure of the details,” Lindal
said.
Zack Xander, another of John’s trusted confidants, had abruptly left Felix Group two years ago.
The official account was that Zack was caught embezzling, making it impossible for him to remain with the company. After he repaid the funds, he resigned.
Linda knew their characters well. They would never do anything to harm the company, so there had to be
more to the story.
“It’s a long story.” Martin sighed. “Tom has been acting out of control these past few years.”
“Tom started scheming since you left,” Kevin explained. “Now, half of the company’s employees are his family members.
“Zack quit because Tom wanted to place his people in the finance department to manipulate the company’s accounts and consolidate his power.”
“Where’s Zack now?” Linda asked.
“He’s probably at Aventis,” Cillian said. “Zack is proud and doesn’t like to justify himself. Almost everyone at the company was criticizing him back then. He felt so humiliated that he decided to leave for good.” “Can you tell me about the problems the company has faced these past four years?” Linda asked.
“Of course. There are things you need to know.” The three of them detailed all the issues the company had experienced during Linda’s absence.
Linda departed from Felix Group in the late afternoon. While in the car, Wendy couldn’t resist commenting. “Tom sure had some guts, didn’t he?”
