Chapter 70
-NAOMI
The grand ballroom fills silent, as if time itself has stood still,
The collective gasp of the esteemed guest is heart wrenching, with every mouth agape and eyes wide with shock.
The atmosphere is heavy with disbelief, as if the very audacity of Charles Dickson’s words has left the entirety of everyone bereft of breath.
The room is still in a state of utter bewilderment, with all eyes fixed on the three of us, as the weight of Charles‘ scandalous declaration hangs precariously in the air.
Charles just had to show up and be a dick tonight!
He should have let this Party flow well.
Circenn hasn’t moved an inch and the guests are already murmuring, some people taking secret photos of us.
shit.
I don’t hate attention, but I’m not a big fan of it either.
I lift my hand and touch Circent. Like to thaw his body from the frozen state he has molded himself.
Sensing my touch, Circenn’s eyes flash with a fury so intense as he looks at Charles, and it transcends into mere
Shit.
His grim eyes blazes with a livid intensity, a burning fire that seems to sear the very air around him.
His pupils constrict, his irises darkening to almost black, as his face reddens with a pent–up ferocity.
I immediately catch a neck strain, his jaw clenched in a fierce snarl, as he struggles to contain the explosive wrath simmering just beneath the
surface
The air around him seems to vibrate with the sheer force of his anger, as if the very fabric of his being is about to unravel at any moment.
My hand shakes in his grasp, it feels as if his anger is consuming and my every nerve seems to be observing it.
In a swift and fluid motion, Circenn’s anger propels him forward, his eyes fixed intently on Charles Dickson.
He closes the distance between them with a swift stride, his fist clenched and ready to strike.
Before anyone can react or intervene, Circenn’s hand shoots out, landing a solid punch squarely on Charles’s face.
The impact is loud and resounding, the sound echoing through the silent room like a crack of thunder.
Charles’s head snaps back, his eyes wide with shock, as he stumbles backward from the force of the blow, landing steadily into the concrete growing below him.
The room erupts into chaos, gasps and cries filling the air, as the scene descends into chaos.
“Girocon!” I rush up to him, my voice holding nothing but horrification.
Circenn is ready to go for another punch, ignoring Charles bleeding lips and nose when I enclose my hand around his body to trap

“Please stop”
I beg him
I don’t know how it works but he listens to me and takes a step back, glaring at Charles who’s on the floor.

But I quickly move to intercept him, grasping his arm and holding him in place, my grip firm but controlled, effectively restraining him from further aggression.
“If not then explain how your ex wife has your kid and I’m pretty sure, Kimberly and Naomi are not the only ones” Charles says, slowly getting on his feet and wiping his bloody lips.
Circenn’s balls his fist..
“You’re going to do this? I will fuck you up so bad.”
With all eyes on us, and a lot of people getting scared by the scenario,
“Please, let’s just leave” I say.
I tap Circenn
Carcenn doesn’t hear me and just keeps his gaze focused on Charles, who is now wiping the droplet of blood stains on his collar
“Circent” I call, and he finally turns to me.
As Circenn’s gaze sweeps the room, he becomes aware of the stunned onlookers, their eyes fixed on the scene we’ve created.
He takes in the shock, the fear, and the disbelief etched on their faces, and his anger begins to dissipate, replaced by a dawning sense of realization
Thank Goodness. He can see what I see too,
He seems to shrink back into himself, his chest still heaving, his eyes still blazing, but his posture relaxing ever so slightly as he becomes calm of the spectacle he’s made.
The tension in his body eases, his fists unclenching, and his voice drops to a low, husky whisper, as he struggles to compose himself.
“Fine,” he says to me. “Let’s leave.
As we reach for the exit, ready to leave
Charles voice trails through the entire room and as he yells, it gets to us and we are forged to halt.
“Circenn, do well to treat Naomi well. I’m sure she is devastated thanks to the package she received, I gave her a better option at life than that sham marriage you both are in”
This time, my body is forced to shiver through multiple chills that come down at me
Circenn breath hitches, but he doesn’t do anything about it.
“Let’s go” I almost stutter as I rug at Circen
My
heart aches and it feels frightened at the same time.
I can’t believe I almost became acquainted with Charles Dickson.
The man I’ve looked forward to meeting.
If only I’d known he has such an obsessive drive on holding ill will toward Circenn I wouldn’t have gotten overly excited when I managed to baga deal with his company
His poisonous words and actions show a long–standing quarrel, a prepared campaign aimed at destroying Circenn’s reputation and ren

I don’t care what history he has about but this is all just too much.

And the moment Circenn and I sit down, he turns to me.
“What package was that bastard talking about
I expect his tone to be rigid, but instead it is calin, collected and raspy
It gives me room to breathe.
“I didn’t know Charles sent that package” I say calmly too.
Honestly I thought it would be from Kimberly. Because that package has nothing but an invitation to walk out of my marriage with Circenn
“We both know now that it is from him, now what is this package that I do not know about!”
His voice strains and I can tell he is trying not to get mad.
Good
Because if he does, I might e
end up crying like a fool.
I feel stressed and Charles just destroyed every nerve in me-
I would never dare to confess this to anyone who inquired, as I am well aware that my reputation holds no significance.
However, what Charles did in there was incredibly embarrassing. Even if my marriage is a farce, implying that Giren is impotent is a personal insult to me as well, I am his partner!
“A few minutes after I got into Maggie’s home, I received a package that came with a DNA test. An expensive diamond necklace and a cheque of millions of dollars, with also a note that said this is all for me and I should end it all My voice is famished as I explain.
Ilamediately recall the flowers that also came with the package but sigh, because its presence is irrelevant.
“What the fuck?” Circenn scoffs. “You have your hands on Hannah’s DNA?”
“Yes” I nod, feeling weird.
I don’t know if it is the tightness of the dress or the realization of envy eating me away knowing my baby boys have a step sister and her attention might sway Circenn a lot. Now that he’s confirmed he’s her child.
I didn’t even know when he went for a DNA test.
The car starts moving and I whine down the window so I can breathe.
Maybe I’m being petty
Or maybe I’m not, I’m a mother, not all mothers will feel this way, but I do and I hate that I do.
Hannah deserves a father too. I shouldn’t be selfish,
And what Elena said. About Kimberly and Circenn still being legally married.
Oh gosh, this is all just too much for me.
I hate that it’s getting under my skin, affecting me more than I care to admit. It’s like a persistent itch that I can’t scratch.
I really can’t tell if it is the fact that my boys will have their fathers attention shared, or I like circenn enough to care that he might be forced to remarry his ex wife because they’re still legally married
I shon’t kieme when I start crying as everything dwells on me, but as my sobs fill every corner of the vehicle, Circenu turns to me
“youuerying“” He sounds a bit irritated.

Fuck, my makeup’s expensive. I shouldn’t be this juvenile.
“Tim sorry.” I apologize, immediately wiping my tears not caring if it smears my makeup.
I shouldn’t be this way,
Without warning, Circenn’s arm wraps around me, pulling me close to his body.

He holds me with a gentle yet firm grasp, my head nestling into the warmth of his chest. His embrace is unexpected, yet comforting, a sense o safety and protection enveloping me.
My check presses against the solid beat of his heart, his warmth seeping into my very being.
In this moment, all else fades away, leaving only the two of us, lost in the solace of each other’s embrace.
