Chapter 13

NAOMI

Circenn pulls up in front of a tall glass–like building with a tower at the center of it, exaggerating its height and nobility.

He turns to me and his full lips press into a smile.

“Are we still being tailed?” He asks.

I look behind me to see the black van which has been following us now parked behind us.

Earlier. I was on the verge of panic when Circenn calmly told me that he wanted us to be followed, photographed, and talked about. As someone who’s never been in the public eye, the idea of being a celebrity couple is completely foreign to me. But Circenn seemed to embrace the attention, even deliberately taking his signature car – the one everyone recognizes as his so that we would be noticed and followed.

“We want everyone talking about this wedding as heavy as possible. Circenn interrupts my thoughts as he undo his seatbelt.

I quickly undo mine too.

As I reach for the door handle, Circenn’s hand catches my arm, his eyes sparkling with a hint of mystery.

“Not so fast” He says, his voice low and rigid,

I seule back in

“We have a van of paparazzi behind us, at least, let me be praised for chivalry” He flashes me his usual charming smile which I find a bit obnoxious.

I raise my broWS

“What?

He walks out of the car and walks over to my side to get the door for me.

I scoff loud enough for him to hear

“You’re unbelievable” I mutter under my breath as I walk out of the car, but he hardly hears it.

We get to the entrance of the building and the name “Whispering Enchanted veils” sits beautifully above the door.

The name is beyond beautiful and my heart

t did a tumble at whatever could be inside the door.

As the door swings open. I’m met with a striking sight a row of elegant women, all dressed in tailored suits, standing at attention on either side of the room. Their hands are clasped behind their backs, and they all share the same sleek hairstyle.

With warm smiles, they greet Circenn and me, their eyes shining with welcoming hospitality,

A Middle Aged woman with bright red hair and matching lip gloss, walks up to us with the brightest smile and turns to Circenn

“Mr. McCain, welcome, your call was sudden, one we did not expect but I promise you. We will give you all the time you need in the world today. Thank you for choosing Whispering Enchanted Veils”

Circenn just nods in return without saying a

ve the place.

We walk inside the building with entourage trailing behind us like we will change our minds any minute and leave

The place smells extremely nice and my stomach feels a bit jumpy.

Another door opens and I immediately drown in the never ending world of glitter, shine and extravagance.

Behind the door is another open area of a warm and luxurious atmosphere, complete with soft lighting and the gentle rustle of elegant fabrics.

I want to scream on the insale.

Chapter 13

The interior is a treasure trove of wedding gowns, with each dress meticulously crafted and showcased on racks that line the wall.

Turn to my side, almost snapping my neek at the process to see a beautifully designed dressing room beckons, where brides can try on their dream gowns in front of a grand mirror, surrounded by comfortable seating areas and plush couches I guess for loved ones in offer their opinions and

share in the excliment

Because this place is more than exquisite

In no time, Carreon is seated and I am offered a special consultant and stylist to help me try new dresses and get a perfect pick at the end of the day.

I know all of these are just for the contract but the amount of zeros I am seeing on the dresses are nerve wracking even for me.

After going through a lot of difficulties and having a lot of relationships that didn’t work out, I decided that I would never get married in this lifetime. I have never genuinely thought of being married mostly due to the fact that no one would accept me if they knew I had two boys. Even if I were to be able to date someone for a short period of time, I would treasure that moment.

I am aware that I had intended to concentrate only on my boys both before and after I received an extensive amount of rejections from men. On the other hand, I am still a human being, a living being with a heart that beats, and this does cause me to experience feelings of loneliness on

occasion

I do not know how Maggie does it, but that loneliness isn’t soothing

So having this wedding dress moment is actually big for me. I am experiencing a world I don’t expect at all.

that makes ine feel

The first dress I put on is a fitted mermaid silhouette, that showcases my hips and thighs, before flaring out into a dramatic skirt that ma like a fairytale princess.

say from his phone.

1 step outside of the curtain and Circenn is immediately forced to look away

He nods in approval at the wedding dress and turns to the stylist behind me.

“Is this the most expensive?” He asks.

The stylist stutters. “No- but it’s sui-

“I said I want her in the most expensive dress Circenn is almost growing.

I turn to him.

“It’s not about expensive. I want to look good too”

“Yeah right.” He scoffs. Basically saying my opinion doesn’t matter.

I roll my eyes and walk back to change into another outfit.

The shop workers are forced to pull our their most expensive dresses and place them in a rack for me to newly choose from.

I step out with the next dress for Circenn to see

It is a ball gown with silvery linings of diamonds and these tiny stones that reflect lights only to shimmer them in retur

It comes with a long well that sweeps the floor and some matching accessories to go with.

I check for the price around the waist and my heart falls into my stomach.

1 blink rapidly at the amount of zeros.

Circen catches me staring and scoffs.

“Do not worry. You’re okay!”

I glare at him and he shaker his head.

“Do you like this!” He asks

“It’s heavy” I comment

|| “Tuct that what’s wedding’s about these days? The heavier the pretiser.” He shrugs.

“Try wearing it then” 1 scoff

As I walk back into the curtain to take off the dress, I catch a glimpse of one of the staff single–handedly taking a picture of me.

I pause and turn to her.

She immediately looks away like she did nothing

One of the staff walks up to me and tries to unzip my dress but 1 tell her to stop halfway.

“I don’t feel comfortable trying to change when my pictures are being taken.

“What?” The staff gasps and starts turning to each other to understand what I

All eyes turn to her.

“I am entirely sorry. I just wanted to prove my words with evidence.”

“And a picture without my permission?” I ask.

Circenn has warned me that I’ll be frequently photographed without consent, and I should get accustomed to it. However, I’m determined to speak out and take a stand when I notice it happening I won’t tolerate it without asserting myself.

really sorry

“My friends didn’t believe me when I said Circenn McCain and his bride were at our shops, so I took a photo to prove it to them. I’m reall for doing that, as I know it was an invasion of his privacy.” She looks famished.

One of the staff steps in front of me to block my open back from Circenn’s view

“She’s the mother of my kids. So think again” Circenn says boastfully.

That title is yet to come.

“What’s going on?” Circenn looks tired.

“I took a picture of your wife without. Permission, I’m sorry” The lady confesses.

These people are getting me way ahead of myself.

Circenn’s face morphs into anger and he turns to the consultant.

“Have her fired. And Naomi and I will have our business elsewhere”
