Chapter 19
The cold drink jolted Julian awake.
Lifting his chin and looking around, he slowly repeated Georgina’s words. It took him five minutes to fully understand what she said.
Him? In love with Saoirse?
The question spun in his mind until he came to a definitive answer.
Yes, he had feelings for Saoirse. Otherwise, why would his heart hurt so much after learning of the breakup?
The prolonged silence left everyone in the room bewildered. No one knew how things had taken such a sudden turn.
When Julian finally spoke, his tone was firm. “Yes, I have feelings for Saoirse.”
Georgina lost control upon hearing this. She swung her palm at his cheek.” Are you crazy? What’s so good about her that you can’t forget her?”
The slap fully roused Julian, who shook his head and squeezed his eyes shut. “We were together for three years. She was wonderful; I was the one who didn’t treat her right.”
“But you’ve broken up!” Georgina screamed.
Julian’s expression darkened further. “Yes, we broke up, but I don’t want to leave her. In five days, I’m going to Poralis again to win her back.”
All jaws were on the floor. Everyone stared ahead, wide–eyed and in disbelief at what they had just heard.
Georgina was completely shattered by his words.
Everyone had always said that Julian was obsessed with her, yet during the four years she spent abroad, he never once reached out to her.
And now, less than a week after Saoirse left, he was flying out to go after her and was determined to continue pursuing her even after being
rejected.
If he could go to such lengths for his ex, did Georgina mean anything at all
to him?
The room fell so silent that not even a breath could be heard.
However, the silence was more powerful than words.
Georgina felt utterly humiliated.
With a mixture of resentment and frustration, Georgina shot him one last bitter glance before turning on her heel and running out of the room.
The other guys in the room exchanged bewildered looks, then collectively turned their attention to Julian.
*Julian, are you really going to study abroad in Flenca?”
Julian nodded and opened another bottle of alcohol, pouring himself a
drink.
“What are you going to do if Saoirse doesn’t want to reconcile?”
“I won’t give up.” Julian’s voice carried an unshakable resolve. “As long as she forgives me, I’ll wait for as long as it takes.”
The guys fell silent for a long moment before one of them finally spoke up. “What about Gina? Don’t you like her anymore?”
Julian had already sorted out his feelings. After a brief pause, he shared his true feelings with his friends. “I did like Gina a lot before, but after being with Saoirse for these years, I gradually moved on from my feelings for her, even though I was reluctant to admit it. Now, I see Gina as a sister. As she said, she and I should remain as friends, I need to move on to a new future.”
Everyone sighed heavily at those words. They couldn’t help thinking it was a pity that the two, despite their years of being so close with one another, ended up not being together.
However, since Julian had made his choice, they supported him unconditionally and offered encouraging pats on his back.
With their support, Julian’s tumultuous heart began to calm down.
After finishing the last drop of his drink, he got up and started to leave. Each step he took was firm and resolute, marking his path forward.
