I seemed to have a connection with hospitals. Every time I felt like my heart had grown cold, the long hard hospital chairs would always
accompany me.
In the middle of the night, the sound of rushed footsteps. immediately broke the peaceful silence within the hospital. It seemed that the Hawk family had found out about Nicholas and Claudia’s incident.
Frances was leading a group of bodyguards as she hurriedly walked toward me. If it were in the past, I was sure she would have given me a big hug and showered me with concern. She would ask warmly, “Ari, are you hurt?”
But after everything that had happened, my relationship with Frances could no longer go back to what it used to be. She was Claudia’s biological mother after all, not mine.
As expected, her calm and graceful appearance was gone, replaced with a look of anxiousness. She frowned as she stood before me in the blink of an eye. She asked fiercely, “Where are they?”
I looked up and glanced in the direction of the operating room.
I didn’t want to come as I hadn’t thought about how I was supposed to face Nicholas yet. We had too many things between us, and he had also said that he needed the time to calm down.
But Nicholas and Claudia both needed stitches, and the doctor who came with the ambulance told me that they needed their immediate family to be able to proceed with the stitching. So, I had no choice but to follow them here.
Chapter 6
Not to mention, even if Nicholas and I had to go our separate ways in the future, I didn’t want him to have any problems with his body. I wanted him to have a healthy body and have a successful career.
But since his family was here, I could leave. I also needed tim process everything and think about how I should proceed with the
entire situation.
If the entire situation with Claudia came to an end and I cut down my obsession over the matter, what was I supposed to do next? I felt like a bird who had lost all its sense of direction, not knowing where
to land.
stood up and smoothed out the wrinkles on my purple dress. Then, I looked at Frances calmly. Just as I was about to speak, she
interrupted me and asked, “Aren’t you sad?”
My calm demeanor seemed to have angered her. Perhaps she thought that if she were to rush to the hospital, she would be able to see a woman filled with regret, sobbing on the hospital chairs.
Her precious daughter was hurt, yet no one cared. But I couldn’t quite understand why. I didn’t even cry when my mother passed
away.
So, I said with a cold indifference, “They won’t die.”
“How can you act like this? How rude can you be? Ariana Jones! You’re just a big bitch!” She lifted her hand high, looking like she wanted to slap me. “You’ve ruined my family and turned into a mess.”
Suddenly, someone grabbed her arm. From behind the group of bodyguards, a beautiful woman quickly rushed over. She cried out, Frances!”
Chapter 0160
The woman shook her head as she held onto Frances‘ arm with both hands. Although the woman had only done a simple acti, she looked beautiful. I frowned slightly. She was so beautiful that I even wanted to console her.
She also looked familiar, but I couldn’t remember where I had seen her before.
Frances seemed to have come to her senses and quickly placed her hand down. Then, she smoothed out the nonexistent wrinkles on her shirt and chucked drily.
“I didn’t plan to hit her. Jasmine, I was just overcome with fury. If only she was half as sensible as you are.”
“Who is she?” My question was lost into the night.
Once upon a time, Frances would also compliment me like that. I never had to worry about the relationship between me and my mother–in–law as Frances had given me enough love and assurance.
