Alexander POV.
The warm water cascaded down around us, creating a mist that wrapped us in our own world. The shower tiles were slick beneath my feet, but I barely noticed; my focus was entirely on Christiana.
She stood before me after pulling away to catch her breath from the deep kiss she initiated. Water was streaming down her body, highlighting every curve, every contour of her skin. It was mesmerizing, the way the droplets clung to her like tiny jewels, reflecting the light and dancing along the curves of her hips.
Her eyes met mine, and in that instant, the air between us was filled with a heat that stirred up something deep within me. I reached for her, my fingers intertwining with her wet hair as I pulled her closer, capturing her lips with mine. The kiss was soft at first, but the urgency of the moment quickly transformed it into something deeper, more primal. Our mouths moved together, the taste of her mingling with the warm water, and it felt as if we were both drowning in each other.
“Alex,” she whispered against my lips, her voice barely audible over the sound of the rushing water. The way my name fell from her mouth sent a thrill through me, awakening every nerve ending, igniting a fire in my veins. I pulled her closer still, feeling her warmth against my body as I pressed her back against the cool tiles.
My hands explored her sides, tracing the curve of her waist, feeling the softness of her skin beneath my fingertips. I needed to touch her, to feel her, to lose myself in the sensations that only she could provoke. The world outside the shower ceased to exist; it was just the two of us, caught in a moment that felt both eternal and fleeting.
“Don’t stop,” she urged, her breath hitching as I trailed kisses down her neck, the taste of her skin intoxicating. Each kiss was a promise, a reminder of everything we had been through and everything we could be. Her fingers found their way to my hair, tugging gently, guiding me closer to her as if she couldn’t get enough.
I lifted her, my hands sliding beneath her thighs as I pressed her against the wall, her legs wrapping around me instinctively. The water cascaded over us, but all I could feel was the heat radiating from her body, our connection electric. Her breath came in soft gasps, and every sound she made sent shockwaves through me, echoing in the deepest parts of my soul.
“Alex,” she gasped again, and the way she said my name was a melody I wanted to play on repeat. It was of desire and need, and I wanted to lose myself in it completely. I thrust deeper, our bodies moving perfectly, the water washing away our doubts, our fears, leaving only the weight of our connection.
Every movement brought us closer to the edge, and I could see the conflict in her eyes, the mixture of pleasure and vulnerability. But in that moment, vulnerability felt like strength. We were bare, stripped of everything but our raw emotions, our hearts laid out in the open. I wanted to capture this moment forever, to engrave it in my mind as a reminder that despite everything we had been through, we were still here, still fighting for each other.
“Just like that,” she breathed, her voice thick with emotion, and it was all I needed. I deepened the kiss, pouring everything I felt into it…every moment of joy, every ounce of pain, all the love that threatened to overwhelm me. Her body reacted to mine, responding to my every touch as if it were instinctual, and I could feel her climbing closer to her peak.
“Christiana,” I whispered, my voice raw with desire. “I’m not letting you go. Not now, not ever.” I needed her to know that this wasn’t just a fleeting moment. I wanted this, us, together, forever.
With one final thrust, we spiraled together into bliss, the world around us fading as we surrendered to the overwhelming waves of pleasure. I felt her body tighten around mine, her cries echoing in the shower, merging with the sound of water as we fell over the edge together.
As the world slowly came back into focus, I held her close, feeling the warmth of her body pressed against mine, the steam swirling around us like a cocoon. This moment felt infinite, and as I looked into her eyes, I knew that we had forged something beautiful, something worth fighting for.
In the aftermath, as the water continued to cascade over us, I pressed my forehead against hers, a soft smile playing on my –lips. “I love you,” I whispered, hoping she could see the truth in my eyes.
Her smile was slow, almost shy, but it lit up her face like the sun breaking through clouds. “I love you too, Alex.”
!
Suddenly, the air around us thickened with the weight of her words. Christiana, the woman I had convinced myself I had lost forever, stood there… her eyes shimmering with something that flickered like a flame, lighting up the shadows of my despair.
“I still love you, Alex.”

The words hit me like a wave, crashing over my defenses, pulling me under. I blinked, stunned, trying to process what she had just said. It felt surreal, like I was in a dream from which I wouldn’t wake. “You… love me?” I stammered, disbelief twisting my gut. Because I told her I loved her, not expecting her to say it back.
Her expression was firm, fierce yet tender, and a tremor in her voice betrayed her vulnerability. “It’s true. I still love you, Alex. Or perhaps I never stopped.”
In that moment, my heart soared and shattered all at once. I opened my mouth, but no words came out. I wanted to laugh, to scream, to pull her into my arms and kiss her until we both forgot the pain we had endured. But the confusion was overwhelming. Was this real? Had I finally broken through the walls she had built around herself?
Before I could respond, the sound of tiny fists banging against the bedroom door jolted us back to reality. “Mommy! Daddy! Are you coming out?” The kids‘ voices, innocent and persistent, echoed through the wood, breaking the tension that had wrapped around.
I turned toward the bathroom door, my heart thundering in my chest. It was impossible to ignore them, yet all I could think about was Christiana standing in front of me, still damp from the shower, her hair falling in soft waves around her shoulders, and the warmth radiating from her body. I was so close to having everything I ever wanted, yet reality clawed at my mind.
“Alex?” she said softly, pulling my gaze back to her. The tad of hope in her eyes made my heart ache.
I stepped closer, wanting to close the distance, wanting to shield her from everything outside this moment. “Did you really mean it? You love me?” My voice was shaky, doubt creeping in that this was all just a fantasy.
“Yes,” she replied, her chin lifting defiantly. “I do. And I hate that it took all this to finally say it.”
As I searched her eyes, the thought of what we had been through and the walls she had built came crashing down, leaving a raw ache in my chest. “I’ve missed you every single day.”
Her gaze softened, the tension in her shoulders easing as she stepped closer to me, the air crackling between us. “We both have, Alex. But I want to fight for this. For us.”
“Mommy! Daddy! Open the door!” The kids‘ voices became more insistent, and I felt a twinge of panic.
“Christiana,” I began, my voice thick with emotion, “this…”
But she placed a finger on my lips, her eyes sparkling with mischief. “Shh. Just for a moment. Let’s ignore them. Just us.”
In that instant, everything else faded away. I reached for her, pulling her against me, feeling the warmth of her body seep into my skin. “I love you,” I murmured, my lips brushing against her forehead.
Just then, the kids started pounding on the bedroom door again. “Mommy!”
Christiana chuckled softly, her eyes dancing with delight. “Maybe we should let them in,” she said teasingly, but I could see the uncertainty behind her playful demeanor.
“No,” I replied, a smirk breaking through my earlier anxiety. “Let them wait a little longer. I don’t want this moment to end.”
She laughed, the sound so familiar and sweet it made my heart swell. “You’re terrible!”
“Only for you.” I grinned, and she shook her head, but her smile was radiant.
But the weight of reality crept back in, and I could feel the heaviness in the air. I couldn’t let this chance slip away. “Christiana, we can’t keep doing this dance. I want you back. I want us back. No more running.”
Her gaze turned serious, and the laughter faded. “I want that too, Alex. But we have to figure it all out. The kids, our lives…”
“Together,” I promised, holding her gaze. “We do this together.”
Another knock came at the door, and I pulled back just slightly, looking into her eyes. I couldn’t shake the feeling that something had shifted between us, that the love we had tried to bury had ignited anew.
“Open the door, please!” The kids pleaded, their voices echoing once again.
Christiana sighed, the lightness returning slightly as she rolled her eyes in a playful manner. “Alright, alright! But just a
minute.”

Chapter 112
Quickly, she dried her body with a towel, wrapped another over her head, wore my clothes and let out a low sigh. While I stayed aside, after doing almost the same thing.
As she stepped back to reach for the door, I caught her wrist gently, stopping her. “I love you, Christiana,” I said, my voice steady.
She met my gaze, her expression softening once again. “I love you too, Alex.”
