Linda looked at Luke, who was absorbed in replying to comments. Then, she spoke up, “Mr. Hunter, being associated with me

-night not be a good thing.”

She offered this advice with genuine concern, knowing her situation was unique.

Linda worried that her involvement might cause Luke trouble.

“Being associated with someone I like is exactly what I want, Luke responded.

Luke’s appearance was gentle and refined, contrasting sharply with his lively personality. Even as a teacher, he was known for his carefree and unconventional style.

Although many people can’t stand for his carefree appearance, they have to admit that he was talented.

Luke led Linda to the garden outside. Although there were no flowers left to see, the scenery was still pleasant.

“Mr. Hunter, I’m a divorced woman,” Linda said, implying that they might not be a suitable match.

Luke took her by the shoulders. His tone was firm and sincere. “I have never believed there’s anything wrong with a divorced woman.”

“On the contrary, I think they are role models for women. In a world that often disrespects women, they make choices that lead to their own happiness. What is the purpose of marriage?” he questioned.

Linda blurted out, “It’s to support each other in building a new and happy beginning.”

“If a marriage cannot provide that, isn’t separation the better option?” Luke questioned again.

Linda continued, “But there will always be people who will be afraid to move forward for the sake of their children or someone else.”

“That’s exactly why I say they are role models for women, Luke said. “Women who bravely break free. from old constraints and embrace a new life are truly admirable.”

Linda was surprised that Luke would say such a thing.

“I’m telling you this to let you know that you are brave, not inadequate.” Luke looked deeply into Linda’s eyes while saying these words.

In his eyes, Linda saw a reflection of her small self. Her heart was touched,

Luke continued, “I hope more people can break free from mental shackles and start a new life.”

Linda looked at him. “Mr. Hunter, you are different.”

He replied disappointedly, “I thought we were friends, but it seems you still don’t see me as one.”

She looked puzzled. “How do I not see you as a friend?”

“Do you address your male friends as ‘Mr‘?” Luke asked.

Luke furrowed his brow, thinking momentarily as he gathered his courage. “I’d prefer you to call me Luke But if you like ‘Lukey‘ better, that’s fine too.”

Linda found that Luke was very cute. “Do your students know you’re like this?”

“They don’t. This side of me is only for you,” he replied.

Linda was silent for a second before walking toward the lake. “Shall we take a walk?”

Luke naturally saw no reason to refuse.

As they walked, Linda’s phone rang. It was Chloe who was calling. “Linda, where are you?”

“I’m in the garden, walking by the lake with Luke. What’s up?”

Chloe’s tone immediately shifted when she heard Linda was with Luke. “I see. Just keep walking. We’ll talk when you get back.”

She was genuinely keen on setting Linda up with Luke. She knew him well and appreciated his character.

Linda had had a tough few years, and Chloe wanted her to meet someone suitable for a fresh start. She had previously mistaken but realized that Samson’s feelings for Linda were brotherly affection.
