Chapter 62
Shelmaine’s lips hurt for a few days, but she endured the pain without going to the pharmacy for medication.
It got better after a few days, but whenever she was reminded of how Samuel had forcefully kissed her in the hotel room, she would feel nauseous.
She was quite particular about these things, especially since there was no telling if Samuel had been intimately involved with Natasha. The thought of him kissing someone else’s lips before kissing her made Shelmine feel increasingly repulsed,
she could only reassure herself with the thought that she had just dealt with a madman.
Shelmaine received a few more custom orders in the afternoon. As she was processing them, Beatrix opened the door and came in, saying, “Boss, someone sent flowers again. Should we reject them?”
“Yes,” Shelmaine said. She didn’t know who kept sending flowers as there was no card or signature, but this had been going on for almost a week with new flowers arriving every day.
Even when they rejected the delivery, the flowers would show up again the next day. Nobody knew who was sending them..
Beatrix was equally puzzled. Who could be sending flowers every day? Could they have been delivered to the wrong address?
But the delivery man said it was for Shelmaine, so she was sure there wasn’t a mistake. There was only one Shelmaine in the entire office
“Boss, why don’t you post about it on your Instagram? That’s strange. Someone’s delivering flowers every day, and I feel bad about rejecting them every time. They’re such beautiful flowers,” Beatrix said.
Stelmaine thought it was a good idea and posted about it. Isabelle saw it and asked her what was going on
Shelmine explained, “I don’t know who keeps sending flowers every day. There isn’t a card or signature.” Isabelle guessed, “A suitor?””
Shelmaine replied, “What suitor? I’m a pregnant woman. Stop joking”
Isabelle teased, “What about Julien? He’s trying to win you over, isn’t he? I heard everything at the hotel
“It’s just a pity he’s Samuel’s cousin. It would have been great if he wasn’t. I think he looks fine and elegant Why not give him a chance?”
Shelmaine retorted, “You think I’d give in that easily?”
Isabelle replied, “No, I’ve been thinking about it. Why should you constantly be bothered by them? Since Julien kes you and is trying to win your heart, I’d play along to piss the others
off if I were you
“And besides, they have to consider your relationship with Juben and won’t cause you any more trouble”
Shelmaine wasn’t someone who would do such a thing. It wouldn’t be fair to Julien since she had no grievance against him and saw no need to use him.
She just wanted to stay away from Samuel’s people.
Now that her studio’s address was exposed, Samuel could find her, and so could Natasha and the others.
Shelmainetelt uneasy and thought she might have to move her studio again.
With that thought in mind, she called Beatrix to discuss moving the office, Beatrix didn’t have any objection and quickly agreed.
It was a sudden decision. Shelmaine was pregnant and couldn’t lift heavy items, so she hired a moving company to help. It took two days to completely move everything out. Fortunately, most of her clients were online, and there weren’t many offime ones, so her work wasn’t significantly affected.
There were many small office spaces in Aurich, making moving relatively easy. She had scouted several locations and knew where to relocate, so it was quite an efficient process Soon they settled into the new office.
Beatrix was quite curious about Shelmaine. In the few months they had worked together, Shelmaine had never mentioned her family or husband.
She figuredit must be exhausting for Shelmaine to work at the studio every day with her belly growing day by day.
Curious about the man who had taken Shelmaine to the hospital that day, she cheekily asked, “Hey boss, can ask you a question?”
“Who was the man who took you to the hospital the other day? He seems really concerned about you.”
Beatrix was young, bold, and around Shelman’s age. There wasn’t much of an age gap between them, so she would speak her mind spenty Sheluaine didn’t bother hiding the truth as she said, “Myes–hushand”
