Chapter 9
NAOMI
I immediately step back into my car and slam the door shut, locking it up instantly.
I glance at my boys to see them terrised of the multiple cameras shuttling behind my car window.
I didn’t sign up for this crap.
I pull out my phone and ring Ralph
He picks up at the first ring.
I am he
“Do not worry Ms. Gilmore” He cuts me off, “I am aware of the scene unfolding around you. I apologize for it, I am on my way to discard these photographers” He sounds like he is running as his breath is carefully being stored.
“Oh please hurry” Ladd before ending the call.
I turn to my babies and see them gawking at me, like they’re waiting for assurance amidst the chaos.
“Everything is okay” I smile.
They both nod and turn back to the yarn they found in my car and have been playing with.
I bite my lip in impatience and try everything to look away from any camera trying to get any angle of my face.
Darn it.
I should have confronted Ciren privately, not show up at the biggest event of his life that everyone has been waiting for
This is all my fault.
Like a breeze, six or more men in black slid their bodies against the closed frame of my car and after forming a chain. They start to push the paparazzi backwards gening them away from my window.
A quiet knock comes against my glass window and my eyes dart to blond Ralph who beckons me to roll down my window
I do as I am told and the heavy outside noise hits my car.
“Tam
I am really sorry for this.” He apologizes
“It’s okay,” I nod.
“Please come out now, I’ll get you to Circern as safe as possible,”
With his words, I usher my kids out of the car and follow him, trailing behind as he expertly navigates us through the throng of paparazzi and Towards the hotel entrance.
He positions himself protectively in front of my kids, shielding them from the chaos,
Once we reach the hotel, a team of friendly staff members, smartly dressed in uniform, ruch over to gi words.
“Can we help you with your purse ma’am?” One of them beams,
Ma’am?
“Oh no, thank you” 1 slake my head mimicking their friendly smile.
They nod in unison and disperse into every nook of the hotel.
Ralph beckons me to keep following him and I do so.
to greet me with warm smiles and welcoming
After taking the elevator, we get to where the suite rooms are in the elevator and that’s when we end up in room 001 where Ralph announces
he moute we step into the room, Blake and Jake jerk up seeing their fatlier and run across the room, yelling “Daddy” to get to him.
11:55 PM
Chapter 9
My heart swells with warmth as I witness this tender moment.
Circen, caught off guard, can’t help but reveal his softer side.
Our kids wrap their arms around his legs, and he gently rubs their backs, a subtle smile spreading across his face.
For a moment, his guard drops, and he savors their affection. But as he notices Ralph and me still watching him, he quickly regains his composure, clearing his throat and straightening his posture, attempting to mask his vulnerability.
“You’re here” He says to me like the tiny people around his legs wouldn’t have made it here if I wasn’t here.
“Tam” Lood.
“Have a seat” He orders.
I take a seat and Jake comes to join me while Blake runs around.
“Ralph. You can leave us
Greenn adds.
Ralph presses me a smile before leaving the suite room.
Carcenn is quiet for a few seconds before he pulls out the paper from a table beside him. A washed expression from his face as he hands me the paper.
I waste no time in opening the paper, only to see it is actually the DNA test proving that my boys are actually his son.
I shrug at him
I turn to Jake who is leaning against me and staring at his father.
“Jake honey.” I cup his face gently: “Why don’t you go join your brother”
He doesn’t have to hear what I am about to say.
Jake glances at Blake before jumping down from the small couch and leaving circenn and L
I turn to Circens
“You called me a liar, a thief and a fly when I showed up four years ago, pregnant-
“Ms. Gilmore I promise-
“Do not worry” I cut him off and see a glint of anger flash across those dark eyes.
“I am not trying to rub it in or something. I just want you to know that I hate being trampled on. You threatened me, you told me I was basically there for your money”
Yeah I was. But he ruined what I thought would have become a perfect negotiation.
“I was terribly mistaken” He begins. “My doctor informed me that the side effects of my treatment had significantly compromised my fertility, leading me to assume that fatherhood was no longer a viable option. I daresay, anyone in my position would have drawn the same conclusion. The prognosis was bleak, and 1 had resigned myself to the fact that starting a family was no longer in the cards for me.”
I sigh.
“But can we put that aside?” His voice is surprisingly calm. “I did not call you here for that. And I apologize if our past is still taunting you, I don’t even vividly recall the night we had both slept together
He doesn’t sound sorry at all.
“Fine” I raise my shoulders.
“Why are we here?” I glance at the bring
He glances at them 100.
“I would like to have a negotiation with you
My Janws go up.
Chapter 9
“On what basis?”
“The twins. He breathes out
“My kids!”
“Our kids” His words are stemm
So they’re ours now?
I don’t say my word out loud but he gets the words in my head immediately.
The conducted DNA test has led me to third person basis. So they’re our kids now,”
“So what negotiation are we on to!”
**I have instructed my legal counsel to draft a comprehensive contract that grants me sole custody of our twins. As you are aware, they will inherit not only my current assets but also any future acquisitions. It is imperative that I have full control over their upbringing and welfare. You will, of course, be permitted to visit them from time to time, and in exchange for your cooperation and signing of the contract, you will receive a substantial compensation package”
I stop breathing.
He’s joking.
“I try not to laugh.
“You’re joking” I
His piercing gaze remains steadfast, his expression unyielding, as he awaits my response.
The gravity of the situation is heart wrenching, and I can sense the weight of his determination.
His eyes seem to bore into my very soul, as if
if daring me to defy his authority.
The silence between us is oppressive, heavy with anticipation.
He doesn’t plan to reply to me so I just shake my head and slowly get on my feet.
“Your words are as ridiculous as ever. Have a good day O
