Chapter 56
-CIRCENN
I enter the hospital Kimberly has directed me to, with little desire to be present. However, since the unfortunate event involves my own so–called child, it is my duty to step up and take responsibility.
I am directed by a nurse to the Ward room Kimberly and Hannah are in.
Here’s a reviled version
As I enter the hospital room, I’m immediately confronted with a scene that defies my expectations. Kimberly is sitting on the bed, laughing and wiping the mouth of a robust and energetic child, who is enthusiastically devouring a chocolate treat
The kid who’s of course Hannah–legs are swinging freely, and their eyes are shining with mischief, a far cry from the fragile, dying child I had prepared myself to encounter. The stark contrast between my assumptions and this vibrant reality leaves me momentarily taken aback
“What is the meaning of this?” My throat feels dry and I want to smash everything in front of me.
Kimberly immediately takes a hold of me and get on her feet,
“Circenn” she sounds surprised. “That was fast.”
“I’m asking what is the fucking meaning of this!” My voice is loud and I don’t give a shit!
“Circean you’re cussing in front of a child” Kimberly tries to shun me.
“You said she was dying!” I take a step forward,
Kimberly sighs.
“Okay, fine, she just had a rash that needed to be treated, but I knew u won’t show up if I had said that on the phone”
My 4s and open them back..
“I was just being reasonable, I wouldn’t have shown up either ways”
“Well you’re here now” she says, fluttering her lashes at me.
The same lime action I use to waver over,
What do p
you want?” I slam.
She dares ruin my resting time with Naomi
“Don’t be so hostile towards me, just because you remarried doesn’t suddenly make me your enemy” she takes a step forward.
“What do you want, Kimberly?” I ask for the one hundredth use.
I don’t have any humanity left in me to play any stupid games.
When she sees I won’t have any other conversation, she lets out a ragged breath.
“Fine,” she tucks her blond hair behind her ear and bites her bottom lips.
An action she does when she’s nervous
“I want us to run the dna test” she begins.
1 shake my head.
“You called me. All for this bullshit?” | scoff
“Cenn you know-
“Don’t call me that” 1 scoff.
“What’s so bad about that, stop treating me like your enemy, it’s just a name her brows furrowed into anger.
If only she knew what I had to go through when she left me.
“I’m not going to have you sliding your way back into my life. Drop the friendliness” I say sternly

“Do you think I’m trying to walk into your life again?” She scoffs, rolling her eyes like my words are abominable.
“Then what is all this? You leave me and then come back with a child that is mine. When we both know you clearly left me because I can’t give you a child Make it make sense Kimberly!” I yell.
“I found out I was pregnant and for you after our divorce okay, and I didn’t just leave you because you couldn’t get me pregnant. I left because-
“I don’t care why you left, maybe four years ago I would. But not anymore Kimberly, I have my family and I am pleased with who they’ve made me become. So stay a
from me and them, your vlterior motives are as clear as day.”
y ulterior motives?” She raises her brows in disbelief.
My
“You attacked my wife with wine. Your pestiness is unmatched” I scoff
“She told you that?”
“We tell each other everything”
I don’t know why I’m saying this, but maybe I just want to be petty too and rub it on her face that I am actually happy.
Which I am
I am happy
to have
I’m content with Naomi, being in this contracted marriage with me, even if we share no feelings towards each other or whatsoever, it’s nice to a wife or should I say a partner by my side. One who I am starting to care for.
And the twins!
Those tiny souls are my entire world.
“Well, it was a mistake, I didn’t intentionally spill wine on her”
“I don’t care, stay away” I wam.
“And fine, if you want a DNA, you can have one I take a step forward and pull multiple strands of my hair. Which is a hard pull.
Kimberly looks surprised.
“You wanted a DNA right, we can meet the doctors here and now and assign for one”
She looks a bit flustered but nods.
“Of course,” she nods,
Kimberly and I meet with the medical professionals overseeing the DNA testing pro
process.
After navigating a series of awkward and unnecessary conversations, as well as negotiating through a multitude of terms and conditions, we eventually get to the crux of the matter. With a sense of relief, we provide our DNA samples, which are promptly dispatched to the laboratory for analysis. According to the doctors, the results will take around one to five working days to process, a hectic time frame.
As I make my way out of the hospital, Kimberly trails behind me with the child beside her.
“You’re leaving already?” She asks.
“What do you intend that I do, treat a patient?”
“Circenn, you were never like this. Why are you like this towards me?”
“Stop acting so sympathetic Kimberly, let’s just patiently wait for the result, the doctor has made sure to call me first, heaven knows that if the child
set mine
I stop talking and sigh.
“And if the happens to be yours?” Kimberly asks, her eyes glinting with hope.
“Do not expect so much from me,” I shake my head. “She may get
et child support but not an attentive father”
I will make it clear.
I’ll just incus to my family.

Kimberly sighs as her expression falters.
“Well,” she begins. “There is something I haven’t tell you”
I stand still, raising my brows.
“And what is that?”
“We are still legally married,” she says.
I grimace at her stupid words.
“Excuse me?”
“When we got divorced, I never got our divorce papers notarised by the district authorities”
She gulps.
You’ve got to be fucking kidding me.
