Entrapment 3

Chapter 3

CIRCENN POV

“Get out!”

My voice fills my office, and the woman in front of me flinches,

“Sir 1. I promise, 1 wasn’t trying to sabotage all you’ve worked for “She looks me in the eye.

Not this again. I don’t have time for this

“Well, congratulations; you’re fired” I nod taking my seat.

“Sir. I promise it wasn’t intentional.” She shakes her head, trembling.

“Get out!” I slam my table with my fist and watch her breath hitch.

The door opens, and my personal assistant, Ralph, walks inside.

He instantly paused at the soaked papers on my desk, and the empty coffee mug was now shattered on the floor.

He slowly turns to the woman in front of me and lets out a faux smile.

“Mrs. Penelope, why don’t you leave us for now! I’ll talk to you later.”

“Mr. Ralph, I promise you it wasn’t intentional. The woman starts to grumble nonsense, but Ralph handles her perfectly as he leads her out of my office with a flaccid smile on his face.

The door closes, and Ralph breathes out a sigh.

“Circenn Ecould hear your voice from miles away, you’ve got to learn how to control your anger.

Of course, Ralph and his office etiquette–well, I own this place. I don’t care how gruesome people say I am.

I sigh. “I know my sh*t, Ralph; I’m a grown man. But that woman intentionally spilled coffee on the resort centre proposal I’ve worked on for weeks

“You’re really stressing yourself out with this resort centre proposal, maybe this is a sign to finally drop it.”

“And let my father beat me to it? No way, Ralph.” I shake my head.

“At this point, you’ll be too stressed out to enjoy all you’ve been working for… Anyway, I’ll grab the drafts and recreate the proposal. There’s nothing to worry about

Ralph passes me an assuring smile, and I know it’s best if I believe him.

Because it’s Ralph

He’s been my assistant and best friend since forever, and he’s one of the people I trust the most.

After getting a ditch for my father, who wouldn’t walk into his own coffin as old as he is, I couldn’t rely on anyone but Ralph.

“Oh, yeah, before I forget Circenn, there is this lady downstairs who is almost causing a quake, saying she needs to see you and wants to talk to you; she goes by the name Naomi Gilmore”

“Me? Naomi Gilmore. I haven’t met anyone by that name.”

“Well, maybe you might recall her if you see her face.”

“Maybe she’s with the resort project?” I raise a questionable brow.

“I don’t think so,” Ralph says, shaking his head and adjusting his glasses.

“Then I don’t think I have to meet her. I have no business with anyone, whoever she is, she shouldn’t ruin my schedule. Tell her off. I sigh, getting on iny fent.

“Okay” Ralph nods, grabbing the office’s selephone.

me live a li

If it isn’t business, then why am I meeting anyone? I already have so much on my plate, and Ralph has already made me making me spend a night at a nightclub against my will after a short business–related meeting there,

Making me do something I know I’ll regret.

a little weeks ago.

like sleeping with a lowly nightclub waitress, it was a caught–up–in–the–moment night. I did regret it, but I wouldn’t lie about not enjoying it

Heaven knows where that lady is

Well why should I care!

“Um, Circenn,” Ralph calls for my

my attention, and I turn around.

This lady is putting up quite a fight; she won’t leave unless she sees you.”

The hell.

“I don’t know who the hell she is or what she wants with me, but fine.. Let her in; if she makes my day worse, she’s going to pay for it.” I sigh, and Ralph turns back to the phone.

“Let her in” He growls into the phone.

I glance down at my wrist watch to see that it’s getting late.

Today isn’t one of my best days, and it’ll be best if someone doesn’t ruin it before it actually comes to an end. My dear old father is on my neck, holding that one sick inheritance I’ve wanted all my life until I get married.

“Get married before inheriting the Black Palace” is all he ever talks about.

Just because I have one failed marriage and I might be unable to give him any grandchildren, he’s treating me like I’m some kid.

If anyone checked, I’m the city’s billionaire, and I didn’t come all the way to the top because of one stupid failed marriage and my infertility, but because I focused on myself

Get married! Again?

Who cares

cares about women or kids?

They can easily be bought with money, and that’s why investing is never out of my mind. I seize every chance I can get with money.

If only I could just get my father to believe I can handle the Black Palace without having to get married, then this city’s radar will be under my wing.

I will be having a press conference at the city’s hall, and I know I’ll basically get asked about how the life of a new–money billionaire is. Because that’s what everyone cares about

But at least, that’ll show my father who the boss is here.

The door opens and my secretary, Alice, walks in with a young lady behind her.

Now if this is one of those ladies trying to accuse me of my so–called anonymous driver hitting them on the road with my car or something just to get money out of me. I don’t care. I’ll lose my sh*t right now.

I don’t have another second to Jose; I need just tonight and a lot of perfect rest to get ready for that conference tomorrow

Alice leaves my office, and Ralph welcomes the young lady, shutting the door behind him.

The brunette looks gory, despite those tired lids, there’s a perfect shade of blue orbs just sitting there.

Such familiar eyes.

With a white, loose T–shirt and her skinny jeans. She’s here for a dollar.

I can guarantee it

She looks like she’s on a diet as her really skinny hands clutch her purse. Her hair looks oily, and of course, I can already read her like a book.

She is one of those ladies trying to rip me off.

She looks like she can barely afford to buy a sandwich for herself

She wants to have a conversation with me.

Why would I have anything to do with her?

I stare at her.

“Naomi Gilmore, I suppose?” Ralph’s voice takes over the silence.

“Yes.” She nods as her jelly lips make a bounce for her heavy breathing.

She looks me in the eye but slowly looks away.

“State your business.” I sigh, not wanting to waste another breath.

She looks like she’s about to cough up blood as she tries to speak. Looking at everything in my office but me, she finally speaks.

“I am pregnant!”
