Chapter 14
After learning that Saoirse had already arrived in Flenca, Julian booked the next available flight to Poralis without a second thought.
During the long hours on the plane, his mind was a whirlwind, replaying the events of the past few years.
In his heart, Georgina had always been the one and only. He couldn’t let go. of her even though she had gone abroad. He continued to regret not confessing his feelings.
He couldn’t move on from her, yet he couldn’t confess either, so he endured the torment of longing day by day.
Those around him advised him to move on, suggesting that maybe starting a new relationship might help him get over it.
After persistent encouragement from friends, Julian began to waver. finally decided to give it a try.
Thus, when Saoirse confessed for the 23rd time, he agreed to be her boyfriend.
He
The reason he chose her was simply because of her overwhelming enthusiasm, persistence, and affection for him.
In her, he saw a reflection of his own pursuit of Georgina.
This relationship was initially nothing more than a form of self–pity.
Julian didn’t really like Saoirse; he knew it, and so did she. However, they both tacitly avoided this issue and became a couple for three years.
In the first two years, although they would occasionally go on dates like any other couple, Julian never truly held her in his heart. It was only when they decided to move in together for convenience during their senior year that their relationship made substantial progress.
After spending time together every day and night, he began to be attracted to Saoirse. He started to try to accept her affection and the relationship.

It was when Georgina returned to the country that Julian’s wavering heart. stirred again.
One was his childhood friend of over a decade, while the other was his girlfriend of three years.
Even though he desperately wanted to make a decision, he couldn’t find
the resolve.
The ingrained preference for Georgina made it impossible for him to
ignore her presence. Saoirse, who devoted herself selflessly, became his fallback.
On countless occasions when Julian unhesitatingly chose Georgina, he arrogantly believed he was hiding things well. Because of that, he grew bolder with each passing day.
It wasn’t until Saoirse left him with that breakup note and moved out that he first realized the situation was beyond his control. It was the first time. he understood that Saoirse was irreplaceable to him.
So, he abandoned everything and flew over, desperately trying to win her
back.
However, she clearly made it known with her resistance that things would.
never work out between them.
Julian couldn’t accept this outcome. As if he had lost his mind, he tried to contact her, searching for any news about her but found nothing.
As he stared at the blank chat screen on his phone, a deep sense of helplessness began to overwhelm him. He couldn’t understand why she had suddenly broken up with him and left him.
Stubbornly, he clung to a need to know the reason why Saoirse no longer
loved her.
After a long and unbearable wait, Saoirse finally replied with an address. Julian rushed to the location without a moment’s hesitation.
Julian saw Saoirse at the entrance of a cafe.
The moment he spotted her, he ran forward to embrace her.
On the other hand, Saoirse stepped sideways and pushed him away.
Coldly, she looked at him and uttered, “We’ve broken up. It’s best we keep our distance.”
